2020 Review – Well that was unexpected!

2020 Review – Well that was unexpected!

It’s almost laughable to do a 2020 review, isn’t it? Who knew when I was writing them, at the end of 2019, a global pandemic would hit?! Covid 19 pretty much put a stop to any plans we all had. With that, any goals for 2020 were pretty much null and void. So I’ve decided that instead of two posts: reviewing the year and goals for the new year. I’d combine it all into one.

AD | Jack’s Supermarket

AD | Jack’s Supermarket

I was partial to a bit of Supermarket Sweep with Dale Winton when I was younger. Therefore, when Jack’s Supermarket got in touch as asked if I’d like to work with them I was quite excited! Immediately images popped into my head of me running about the Jack’s Supermarket Wakefield, throwing random items into my trolley and the odd blow-up banana too. The reality wasn’t quite that (social distancing and the people of Wakey thinking I was a madwoman) but…

I Hate Weaning

I Hate Weaning

There, I said it. I hate weaning. I just don’t get these people that say “oooh i love weaning, it’s so much fun watching them explore food!” For me, it’s a lot of pressure and a massive ball ache! Some say that parenting in general is a lot of pressure and I suppose it is. There is a pressure to parent them into half decent human beings that don’t lick windows/eat their own poop. With weaning though, there are so…

Anxious Annie

Anxious Annie

Today is the one year anniversary of the day I got my first sick note for “work related stress”. I felt now was a good time as any to actually discuss my anxiety in pregnancy, what happened as well as how I feel about it one year on.

Chances are, if you live in the West Yorkshire area and have a child, you will have heard of BoomChikkaBoom. Faye and her team are quickly becoming on of the biggest children’s entertainers in our area. When you attend one of their events, it’s easy to see why! Lucas, Sienna and I got involved in some messy play fun with them!

Go Ape – Temple Newsam

Go Ape – Temple Newsam

When I tell people I’m scared of heights they say “But you did a sky dive!” and they’re right, I did, from 15, 000 feet. I’m scared of heights, still! Throwing myself out of a plane, strapped to a random guy, did not cure my fear. My fear is actually worse when I’m closer to the ground. At 15, 000 feet you don’t comprehend how high you are. As we floated to the ground in the parachute I freaked out….

Lourdas, Kefalonia

Lourdas, Kefalonia

Back in July, this Yorkshire fam-a-lam travelled to the beautiful Lourdas Kefalonia in Greece. The island is probably best known for the book/film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. The only memories that I have of that are the book laying on my step mums bedside table when I was younger. Other than it being in Greece, I was pretty clueless about our holiday destination.

This Green Moon

This Green Moon

On our last day before Lucas started school, I wanted to do something nice with him to mark the occasion. When one of my friends suggested This Green Moon, the forest school in Leeds, I was clueless! I didn’t know what to expect but totally up for giving it a go! Woodland Adventures Situated in Swillington Organic Farm, it encourages woodland adventures, imagination, outdoor experiences and much, much more. Paul, who owns This Green Moon, immediately impressed me with his…
